Firstly this looks like a great site I just found. I've already discovered the problem with my icemaker. But now on to my computer. When I burn cd's I listen to them at work in a noisy factory. Some of the songs play loud enough but others aren't . Is there any way to affect the volume on a disk before you burn it and what about any other way to increase the quality of the disk. I burn regular cd's and mp3 with the same results.

Woodchuck,
It depends on what program, and what format you are using to burn your CD's, so please post your OS version, the program you use, and whether you are burning an audio CD or a data CD (with mp3 format files). Most burners have an option to automatically level the sound on all tracks. Then you can control the sound level on your stereo and all the tracks should play about the same level. So, let me know what you're using and I can probably be more specific. PS. How many chucks can you chuck? Assuming of course, you would chuck wood. |

I use to chuck WOOD but that was years ago. I don't remember how much.
I have windows XP using i-tunes to burn with. I think I have a couple of other burn programs I haven't looked at closely. In itunes I have found a place to set volume but it is for play back on the i-tunes player. I am burning mp3 files to mp3 format on the cd. I also burn the same mp3 files to an audio cd with the same results. Hope this helps you help me. |

I don't personally use iTunes to burn CD's, so I haven't tested this. There's an option in the preferences window (goto Edit->Preferences), under the Playback tab, called "Sound Check." I don't know if that's for playback on your computer, or on the burned CD's.
Aside from that, I don't know how to get iTunes to do this. One option would be to use something like Window Media Player to burn your mp3's -- there's an option to apply sound leveling when burning music... Yes, of course you were chucking wood, but you still haven't told us how much... |

Hi friend, If you use NERO for burning CD, you do have an option there to NORMALISE SOUND. Check on that and burn CD. Enjoy Harris |

What you need to do is download (free) the latest itunes, at the moment its 8.2.0.23 then on the main page click on EDIT then at the bottom click PREFERENCES then open the tab PLAYBACK then checkmark SOUNDCHECK. enjoy.
